Finding French Hotels
We're frequently called upon to find hotel accommodation for people, due to the fact I've been an accommodation agent for over twenty years. There are many places I'm aware of that most people wouldn't know, and I research all the top web sites for people when looking for hotels.
Having travelled up and down throughout the country, I know many towns and cities, and have stayed at many hundreds of hotels and guest houses. This is obviously the main reason people ask for my opinion on where they should stay when they're visiting a particular area.
One time, a friend of ours was asking about hotels in France. They were aware of where they wanted to be, so sought my advice about Meribel hotels that I thought would be right for them, as I knew them and would be able to help out with their choice.
When you're looking to choose somewhere to stay, it's important to know the purpose of your visit, so you can work out what sort of things you might want when you're there. There are several issues here, which I always think of when I'm looking to give my advice.
You should take into account the purpose of your visit, such as whether it's for business or for pleasure. Perhaps it's a bit of both. This can help you decide on the right hotel, for instance if you are there for business, it may be that you require internet access in your room.
You need to work out what you'll want to do in the evenings. You may wish to eat in the hotel, so you'll have to ensure there's a restaurant available. Or perhaps you'll want to look for some restaurants in the local area if you don't want to stay in the hotel.
Some people are keen on exercising whilst away from home, so you should find out if there's a gym or a swimming pool either in or near to the hotel. If it's not on site, you should also find out if the hotel has a deal with this gym or pool for you to be able to access them for free.
Once I'd put together a list of suitable places, we looked through them and picked out the ones that seemed best. We worked out the ones that had rooms available on the dates required, and booked online. When you're next looking to stay in France, taking these simple steps will help you enjoy your stay.
